I Love You Phillip Morris Review

Steven Russell is happily married to Debbie, and a member of the local police force when a car accident provokes a dramatic reassessment of his life. Steven’s new, extravagant lifestyle involves cons and fraud and, eventually, a stay in the State Penitentiary where he meets sensitive, soft-spoken Phillip Morris.
I Love You Phillip Morris is a great movie, but at the same time may not be for everyone. Before getting into the good stuff, the main thing that may turn people off from the movie (Pun Intended) is the homosexuality and how it is presented. The scenes aren’t graphic, but a lot is implied or presented to the viewer and will obviously make some people uncomfortable. Now that we got that out of the way, the movie was brilliantly acted by Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. In particular, Jim Carrey adds a lot of life and elements to his character and to me it was his best role since Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Besides being funny and outgoing, he also nailed some of the more serious parts of the movie.
The story itself was well done and without giving away any spoilers will probably through you for a loop towards the end. Throughout the movie you may try to figure out where they are going with the film, but once it is over you will realize how well it got the point through. If you are a movie lover I would definitely recommend I Love You Phillip Morris as it should bring out many emotions while watching and tells a great story.
